About Us
Sherry Johnson, Registered nurse, Founder/CEO of Hattie Mae’s Home Care Agency, Sherry has 35 accumulated years of experience working in the healthcare industry working in home care, long term care facilities and hospitals. I understand the needs that our population of seniors prefer to have the opportunity to have compassionate caring individuals to care for them while remaining in the comfort of their own home where they feel safe and are most familiar. By remaining in their familiar surroundings, seniors can preserve their emotional well-being, cherish the memories associated with their home and maintain a sense of independence and autonomy. These factors contribute to their overall happiness and quality of life as they age.
My agency was named after my paternal grandmother, Hattie Mae Thomas, who had a very strong work ethic that has trickled down the generations. I have always had an inspiration and desire to help people. Working in the field for many years, I have seen firsthand the vast need in the homecare industry where the need is growing now more than ever since the elderly population are living longer. Helping the elderly and those individuals with debilitating diagnosis to be able to have the choice to stay in their own home as they grow older is an amazing reality.
Statistically, 90% of adults over 65 years of age want to remain in their current homes. My goal is to find qualified caring individuals to provide optimal care to our increasing population of baby boomers. I hold steadfast to my Mission and Values to accomplish my Vision with an emphasis on service excellence.
We pride ourselves in hiring the most dedicated and compassionate caregivers available to ensure that our clients receive the best care. We perform a comprehensive national background check, abuse registry, sex offender, and reference checks both personal and professional.
